CPR/AED For Professional Rescuers and Healthcare Providers

Art of Swimming wants to make the process of connecting and taking your CPR classes an easy goal! Our instructors can come to your business to organize and conduct classes. We also have various locations in Suffolk County for your convenience!

The American Red Cross has made it easier than ever to become certified in CPR for Professional Rescuers and Healthcare Providers. Art of Swimming is an authorized provider (LTP) of the American Red Cross to conduct OSHA compliant CPR classes.

  • Whether you are a Doctor, nurse, home health aide, EMT, firefighter, police officer, lifeguard, personal trainer, athletic coach, or a nanny, you will need certification in CPR for the Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Providers.

  • It is a 2 year certification, however New York State requires the class be retaken every year.

  • It includes digital certification card

  • Student to instructor ratio is 1:10

  • You will be required to show proficiency on a written and skills test

Topics include:

  • Activation of the EMS system

  • Personal protective equipment

  • Responding to breathing emergencies

  • Responding to cardiac emergencies

  • CPR for adults, infants, and children – one rescuer

  • CPR for adults, infants, and children – two rescuers

  • AED for adults, infants, and children

  • Bag valve mask resuscitation (BVM)

  • Obstructed airway for a conscious victim

  • Obstructed airway for an unconscious victim

    There are optional modules for blood-borne pathogens, administering oxygen, administering asthma inhalers, and administering an epinephrine pen.

    This course either meets the standards or is approved by OSHA, National Certification for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, US Department of Labor, US Coast Guard, New York State, New Jersey state, and many other organizations.
